We had no money” – Davido recounts how life was for him 12years ago

International artiste, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that life was not all that rosy for him some 12 years back.

The ‘Jowo’ crooner disclosed this on his Instagram page on Tuesday when he posted a photo of a visit to his old apartment in the United States.

In his caption, Davido revealed that he had lived there some twelve years ago with his cousins, and they had no money, no support, only a dream.

Speaking of how big they are now, the father of three said they now roll in millions, moving on to billions.

He said:
“Damn I went to my old apartments where I used to live 12 years ago with Sina and B red!!! As hard as it is to believe .. we had no money .. no support just us and a dream !! 12 years later ! We millions in ! Road to a billion 💵!!! We thank God !! Never stop believing !!”

Davido is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is the biggest and one of the most influential artistes in Africa. Adeleke studied Business Administration at Oakwood University before dropping out to make beats and record vocal references.

DMX death: “The greatest rapper” – M.I Abaga mourns legendary rapper

Nigerian rapper, M.I Abaga has mourned the death of legendary rapper, DMX with birth name, Earl Simmons who died on Friday in White Plains, N.Y. He was 50.

 

Taking to his Twitter page, M.I Abaga defined DMX as the greatest rapper for him, as he described him as the reason he took up a career in rap.

See what he wrote below;

The greatest rapper to me.. the reason I started rapping has passed on..

I promised myself I would meet you one day.. now I know my bucket list will never be completed.

Rest in peace Earl. The world was not fair to you but you did your best!

I love you forever

 

The Grammy-nominated performer died after suffering “catastrophic cardiac arrest,” according to a statement from the hospital in White Plains, New York, where he died. He was rushed there from his home April 2.

His family’s statement said DMX, whose birth name was Earl Simmons, died with relatives by his side after several days on life support.

“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days,” his family said in a statement. “Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.”

The much-anticipated new drama series titled ‘Okoto’ co- produced by the duo of Oluwakemi Irinoye and Amir Wasiudeen,directed Seun Afolabi is set for a private VIP screening.

 

Okoto is a Libra TV, Original Series staring the likes of Nollywood veteran -Ayo Mogaji, Muyideen Oladapo and seasoned actors such as Lateef Adedimeji, Bukunmi Oluwashina, Adeaga Bukunmi, Taiwo Ibikunle, Bukky Raji, Dayo Adegbite,Akinola Akano,Mimisola Daniels and Damilola Oni among many others.

According to the producer- Oluwakemi Irinoye, all roads leads to the Film House Cinema, Dugbe, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State on Wednesday, March 31st by 6pm while Red Carpet will start at 5pm.

Okoto is a millennial drive drama that tells the every day experience of an average African Youth, their dreams, aspirations, hopes and struggles. The hustle, the discouragements and the upliftment.

“Okoto tells how life happens to us all, with relatable characters showcasing challenges and situations that happens to average Nigerians with a flavour of what the beautiful city of Ibadan has to offer” she said.

Irinoye revealed that the production of “Okoto’ took place between November 2019 and February 2020. “We have since then been on post production and now we are ready for release” she added.

OKOTO will be on air on Libra TV’s YouTube Channel from April 4, 2021.
