Gov Makinde watches with excitement as Shooting Stars trash Ekiti United

…honours ex sports commissioner, 3SC coach

Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde was present at the football match between the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Ibadan and Ekiti United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamsingba in Ibadan.

The match played on Sunday evening saw the 3SC team beat their counterpart in a 1-0 victory.

Makinde took to his official twitter handle to celebrate the football Stars on the commendable feat.

Also present were Oyo state House of Assembly speaker, RT Hon Debo Ogundoyin, commisioner of youths and sports, Seun Fakorede amongst others.

The governor also honoured a former player and coach of the club, Felix Owolabi and former commissioner for youths and sports, Ayoola Makanjuola for contribution to sports development in the state.

He said: “We attended the match between Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan and Ekiti United at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasigba, this evening. Congratulations to our team for the 1-0 victory.

“It was an opportunity to honour former player/coach, Felix Owolabi and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Ayoola Makanjuola for their outstanding contributions to 3SC and sports development in Oyo State.”

COVID-19: We Will Deal With Officers Violating IG Orders

The Oyo state Police headquarters PPRO, SP. Fadeyi Olugbenga made this known in a telephone chat with our correspondent said “Our men had been thoroughly warned and lectured, their deployment is not based to go and extort, they are to carry out their lawful duties and make sure they enforce and at the same time secure the lives and properties of the people”.

S.P Olugbenga also warned that any Officer doing otherwise is doing that at his own peril. Violators of Inspector General of Police orders will be seriously dealt with in line with police regulations.

We check officers by using a mechanism of routine check, where senior officers go round to see what the officers are doing and also see to the level of public compliance. Though encouraging, but still have some recalcitrants.

Members of the public are advised to call our control room members been circulated in the public to complain any grievances.

In his view, Oyo state police command has been carrying out sensitization programmes to educate the public on the need to obey government directives and maintain law and order.

“Please stay at home, only people on essential duty are expected to be out”.

According to the directives of the IG, we are not ready to retain people unnecessarily but we do arrest on Important purposes.

He however enjoined the public to report officers violating them with a promise to take proper action but plead the public to obey the rules and regulations put in place to collectively win the war against Coronavirus pandemic.

He assured that Nigeria Police in collaboration with other security agencies are working hard to ensure a peaceful society.

BREAKING! Accountant-General of the Federation’s office on fire

Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation on Wednesday was gutted with fire.

The Root Media gathered that the building, also known as “Treasury House” is located beside the Federal Capital Territory FCT Police Command in Garki, Abuja.

It was gathered that the fire started from around the third floor, razing the building upwards including the Accountant General’s office and most of the important offices.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known even as workers are currently at home observing.

However, a combined team of men of the Federal and FCT Fire Services, as well as other security operatives, have to a large extent contained the fire.
