8 notorious members of rival cult groups arrested by Police in Ogun

No less than 8 members of rival cult groups, Eiye and Aiye have been arrested by the Police in the Ifo area of Ogun state.

This was contained in a statement released by the police public relations officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

According to a statement, a distress call was made to the police in Ifo division headquarters during the clash and the DPO; CSP Adekunle Adeniyi, quickly led his men to the scene where they met two others with gun-shot injuries.

He said the DPO and his men subsequently moved and traced the rampaging cultist to Iyana Coker area where three amongst them namely: Soji Olamilekan ‘m’ 29yrs, Shobande Olalekan ‘m’ 26yrs and Solomon Fadebi ‘m’ 33yrs were arrested.

On interrogation, they informed the police that their other members have ran to Osuke area of Onipanu Ota where they were planning to launch another round of attack.

Based on the information, the DPO Onipanu division was contacted and he quickly moved to Osuke area where he met a group of cultists holding a meeting in a bush. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels but they were hotly chased and with the assistance of the youths in the area, four amongst the cultists namely: Balogun Oluwaseun ‘m’ 22yrs, Joseph Onwe ‘m’ 24yrs, Peter Rapheal ‘m’ 22yrs and Yusuf Emmanuel ‘m’ 26yrs were apprehended.

While investigation was going on, information got to the police that one of the cultists was seen receiving treatment for gun-shot injury in Arobiye village Ota, the DPO Onipanu swiftly moved in there and got the suspect, one 22yrs old Toheeb Olorunkemi ‘m’ who confessed participating in IFO crisis where he received gun-shot injury arrested.”he statement read.

Oyeyemi said items recovered from the arrested suspects include one locally made pistol, six live cartridges, four different types of handset, one black beret, and a small bag. He said the corpse of the slain cultist has been deposited to the general hospital mortuary while the injured ones have been taken to the same general hospital for medical care.

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edward A. Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation and has also ordered a serious manhunt for the remaining members of the groups in order to put their notorious activities to a permanent end.

Police arrest man for allegedly stabbing mother-in-law to death in Ogun

A 28yrs old man, Opeyemi Adeola Ganiyu, was on the 3rd of May 2021 arrested by men of Ogun state police command for killing his mother in law, Abosede Oyewole.
The suspect, as confirmed by the Command spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi was arrested following a report made at Atan-Ota divisional headquarters by one Odunayo Mathew, who reported that the suspect, who is married to the daughter of the deceased, is fond of beating his wife on slight provocation.
On the fateful day, the suspect, as usual, beaten up his wife and inflicted injuries on her, and that is the reason the deceased went to meet him in order to warn him to desist from beating her daughter.
“On sighting the deceased in his house, the suspect descended heavily on her, beat her mercilessly before stabbing her on her ribs with a knife.
“The deceased was rushed to an hospital for treatment, but gave up the ghost in the process.
Having heard that the victim has died, the suspect took to flight.
“The DPO Atan-Ota division CSP Abolade Oladigbolu there and then detailed his detectives to go after him and bring him to justice.
“The detectives embarked on intelligence based investigation, which led them to his hideout in Ikorodu Lagos state where he was eventually apprehended.
Preliminary investigation revealed that, the suspect is a member of notorious cult group in the area.
“He was also one of those who led hoodlums to burn down Atan ota police division during the endsars protest, and killed the divisional crime officer on the 21st of October 2020”, Oyeyemi explained.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.

Pastor impregnates 20 church members as instructed by the Holy Spirit

A 53-year-old supposed pastor has reportedly impregnated 20 members of his church congregation claiming being instructed by the Holy Spirit to do so.

The self-acclaimed clergy man is said to be cooling off in the custody of the Enugu State Police Command.

The pastor, identified as Timothy Ngwu, is said to be the ‘General Overseer’ of Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity in Enugu.

The police spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu revealed that the pastor has been charged for sex abuse.

“The pastor claims to be obeying spiritual orders to do the will of God, which is to impregnate any one chosen and revealed by the holy spirit, irrespective of whether the woman is married or not,” said Amaraizu.

“When the woman delivers, the child is supposed to remain in the ministry with the mother for life,” he added.

It was gathered that the pastor was reported at the police by his own wife who got tired of his behaviour after he also impregnated her young niece.

In his defense, the pastor said he never had sex with any of the married women unless their husbands agreed with the request of the Holy Spirit.

Approximately, he said he has five wives with 13 children along with other concubines he got after the Holy Spirit commanded him to do so.

Two Polytechnic Students found Dead

Students of Crown Polytechnic, Ilawe in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State have embarked on riot at school premises followed the demise of Nifemi, a Business Administration student and Desire, of Science Laboratory Technology student.

Reports have it that Nifemi died of snake bite while Desire was reported to have died in her hostel after a brief illness.

Some lecture rooms and cars were seriously damaged by the students during the process of the riot.

According to some students who pleaded anonymity said they embarked on peaceful protest to register their grievances with the management of the institution over non-challant attitude to students’ welfare.

They called on the management of the institution to fumigate school premises and provide necessary facilities at school hostel to prevent untimely death of students.

According to finding, the students are expected to commence semester examination this morning before crisis broke.The school authority therefore announced and directed that all the students should vacate the Polytechnic premises with immediate effect.
The Polytechnic is hereby closed until further notice.
